First off, great thread guys. Thanks to everyone who has shared.
I think I have shown this paper once/twice before but it fits here, I guess. It is the New York Times from 1927. It is a rag edition too which is sort of cool. And here is a card, below that, which I had for a few years when I saw the paper. Then I had to have the paper ![]()

Leon, sweet paper! Those rag editions from that era are nice to have.
Check out this Oct 28, 1871 issue of the Days Doings, and their coverage of the Great Chicago Fire. Below is the centerfold with a sketch of Mrs. O'Leary's cow. Quite the rare paper and illustration! ![]() Here is the front page with an illustration of the people trying to save their children from the fire: ![]() |

Brian, That's awesome...Does anyone have other memorabilia of Jim Creighton?
Coincidently I just bought an 1881 American newspaper directory a couple weeks ago off eBay...seems to list every newspaper from the biggest cities to every backwater little burg...essentially I believe the directory was marketed to business' who wanted to run ads and needed a list of, and contact info, for all newspapers so they could advertise their products...I've always found the newspaper business interesting. ![]()
