Leon, where do you want the photos? Here, or with autographs and game-used memorabilia?

Since mostly all I collect other than cards is photos, it would be good to get some guidance, rather than wait for another wrist-slap.

Default Illustrated London News Woodcut

Happy to add this beautiful woodcut to my collection! IMO, this one ranks close to the Creighton Memorial in terms of eye appeal. Hope to get it framed soon!

Beautiful, George!

That one may top the Creighton piece. Can you please provide all players names pictured along with the date of the piece for me?

Thanks a lot

Thanks Phil! This woodcut came out of the Illustrated London News (March 23, 1889). It is titled "The American Baseball Players at Kennington Oval - Visit of the Prince of Wales" and measures ~W 23" x ~H 16" It has a lot of similarities to the Creighton woodcut in that it shows players from each team (in this case "All America" vs "Chicago") along with a game in progress in the center. As you can see, there are also numbered illustrations which depict a ball, strike, a comic like mascot etc. along with Anson shaking hands with the Prince of Wales (bottom illustration). The match-up is fascinating as it shows Anson on the upper left and John Ward on the upper right. Players are as follows:

All America
Ward, Captain, All America
E. Hanlon
C.A. Wood
W. Earle
J Healy
J Manning
Graine
T.L Brown
F.H Carroll
J.C Fogarty

Chicago
Anson, Captain, Chicago
E.N Williamson
J. Ryan
R H. Pettit
J.K Tener
Martin Sullivan
Fred Pfeffer
T.P Daly
T.L Burns
Mark Baldwin

I'll assume your silence means you are ambivalent.

Scott- In a perfect world everything would be in it's correct place. That being said there really have been no firm rules set, on purpose. I was just giving you a hard time before because of your mostly single handed try at changing the board ie...the autographs in another yet to be made forum. I think consistency is a good thing when something is working and we don't change the board, operationally, too often. When it makes obvious and popular sense, then we do it. Also, at the end of the day I guess the buck does stop here and like it or not....I try to do what I think is best for the welfare of the board. If you want to post a few pictures on this side the world won't cave in. Thanks for your understanding though I am afraid I could have just opened yet another can of worms. regards

To specifically answer though, I think photos are more memorabilia than cards so should go in that section.

It's flattering that you only read my opinion and ignored those who seconded it, but it was just an opinion, and it was based on the fact that non-MLB photos are for the most part ignored in the memorabilia section.

To me discussions and resulting dissemination of information is more important than what forum a post is made in. And modifying sub-forums seemed like a way to facilitate better discussion without cluttering up the card section. Just threw an idea out - it didn't stick.

Thanks for your response
