I was hoping the guy sitting on the far right was Henry Chadwick...but it is not. Looks to be a town team but I'll keep looking for a familiar face.

Hi, I wanted to provide more information on this particular photograph based on some feedback I received from a few NY historians. There was agreement that the photo was taken in the Rochester area and some speculation that it may have been in front of a rural railway station (based on the unique posts in the photo) vs the front of a stadium. I may never find out but what is more interesting is the background of this photographer. Below is the response I received from one of the experts. I love learning about the "historical" context of photographs such as this one

"The photo you have with the Haskins stamp was taken by the stained glass artist George W. Haskins, some time between 1888 and 1895. In the early 1890s Haskins was working odd jobs laborer, bookkeeper, printer, etc, he was "finding himself". His one passion was photography. Haskins was an active member of the Camera Club of Rochester, established in 1888, and would sit on it's Board of Directors in 1890. This photo must be from Haskins these pre stained glass days. Haskins would join up with Sidney H. Collyer in 1895 and start Haskins & Collyer Art Glass."

Whatever it is, great job on the historical digging. Amazing to be able to connect the dots on such a seemingly random photo.
