Here we go again... go get out your tape measures because its another thread that reminds me of guys checking their lengths.....some need to do it with the huge oversized Dodge trucks...others with rare baseball cards

The nicest raw set that I've heard of (never seen, but a very reliable source told me about it) resides with a southern gentleman. It's missing the toughest several cards but generally would grade solidly between a 6 - 8.
I have also seen several near-sets 'in the raw' that would grade between a 2 and 4. |

I politely disagree. I enjoy seeing other folks cards and collections. I hope as many board members as possible will show them. If you don't want to, that is fine, but I hope no one will rain on other folks parades. There is a difference between bragging and sharing. I show a ton of cards but am not bragging. There is always someone that has something better. And collecting, is about gathering things. If we don't show what we gather then I think it takes part of the fun out of it. Just my opinion and everyone is welcome to their own. I will have to start a "show me" thread today!! I love seeing everyone's cards....and a big THANKS to those folks that do share.

Thank you Leon. I don't know of anyone around where I live that would enjoy seeing the set as much as Net54. It's tough to put so much work into making something and not be able to show someone what you've done. This thread was started to show everyone and see where I stand. Sounds I like I have a little ways to go but I will always be trying to make it better. I think it's also nice for people just starting out to see what's possible.

Doug,
First off great looking set. Maybe I overlooked it, but how many cards are you still missing? What about a quick list of who you still need.? I know you have shown pictures, but I'm not sure most T206 collectors distinguish between Majors, Minors and Southern Leaguers when organizing their sets. I have been doing it alphabetically with all leagues together. |
