Default It could be...

Steve McQueen, deleted scenes from The Great Escape

Sorry, just fooling around.
I don't think the seller is intentionally misleading anyone ( at least anyone who reads the entire listing)

Default Prior sale

This card was up for sale and sold on eBay approximately 6-8 weeks ago. The posting from the original seller was that this postcard was Matty. I was skeptical then as (was noted above) the uniform was not correct. I believe the OP purchased the card as advertised and is now selling it as it was originally stated. The problem seems to stem from the seller 6 weeks ago.

Dave:

Do you know what it sold for originally?

Most of the current seller's postcards were from his long time collection, I find it odd that while liquidating his entire inventory, he would buy a new item 6-8 weeks ago on e-bay and then be selling it now without realizing that something was wrong with it. If he was misled, two wrongs don't make a right.

Here's the auction where he bought it. I had it on my watch list and forgot to bid. Sold for $81.06. Now seeing that it's not Matty I'm glad I forgot to bid!

I'm going to go in a different direction than everyone else on this one.
I'm sure the seller has a long history of being a good guy, but he is not handling this properly. He may have bought this thinking it's Matty, but now it's pretty clear he knows it's not, or at least has his doubts. That's what the description should say. Instead he says it's believed to be Matty, but you make the call. That sounds a lot like " I believe the card is original, but I'm selling it as a reprint -- you make the call". If he honestly believes it's Matty, there would be no qualifier in the description.

Good eyes on the uniform but even if the uniform were corect, which it is not, that is NOT Matty. No way, no how and I am 100% positive.
