Curious as to why the OP hasn't let on about the location of the ball in question. Or as to the existence of a (somewhat dated) Loa from two of the "top" TPA's.

So the ball sold in Paragon Auctions over the weekend for $3384.00
and it was PSA and JSA, so what do you all think about that? http://www.paragonauctionsite.com/Lo...aspx?lotid=453 |

and 11 year old COA? How long has Spence been doing this stuff? To me, it looks HORRIBLE, that GEhrig, but Im not a pro authenticator.

It sounds from the auction write-up that JSA recently re-certed the ball, too? No?

Gotta believe Jimmy was having a bad day because that Gehrig is at best a club house signature. With this grouping of players, it had to be a ball that was signed on multiple occasions...probably at a Boston, Det and Yankee games with a couple of others odds and ends (what the heck is Dusty Rhodes doing on there presumably almost 20 years later)?. Anyway, I've never seen any balls that gehrig signed that were even close to this. This one is slow and calculated so why not write closer to his normal sig?

Could this be the same ball sold by Christie's in 1998?
http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/1...7-44e13edc50d4 Also, I'm wondering about the LOA which specifically mentions an embossed seal that should appear over Spence's signature which my eyes can't see in the scan. The wrinkle in the paper to the right shows up, but I don't see any embossing on that page. Maybe nothing, but strikes me as odd. |

Thanks for the info. I was not aware there was another Dusty Rhodes, and since he played for both NY and BOS, it still fits with my theory of multi signings during those and a Detroit game (I don't believe it was an All Star game based on the combo of players...Goslin 1936 only and Ruth 33 and 34, etc). Still believe the Gehrig is a clubhouse.
