Default Some nice Montiels

I was very pleased to pick up these three HOFers to add to my Cuban collection. The Dihigo was at the top of my wish list. The Dimaggio and Williams were a bonus.

Best regards,

Joe

Joe:

Great condition on the Dihigo card, that is probably the nicest one of those that I have seen.

Default Dihigo condition

Thanks Phil. I was real happy with the card's condition. It looks a lot better in hand than in the picture. I'm looking forward to having it graded.

Best regards,

Joe

Sounds good, an SGC 40/3 would be quite a nice grade for that set.

Nice Dihigo Joe!! I was 4th in line on bidding on that beauty, I didn't go any higher cause I believed there to be a small amount of paper loss on the upper left hand corner that would have affected the grade. Now with the card in hand, is that paper loss or a printing defect in the yellow border??
Just curious, anyways, great pick up on a tough card!!

Steve

I was the immediate underbidder on that Dihigo. Very nice card. I did pick up both of the Montiel Ruth's from that seller.

Default Upper left corner

Hello Steve,

I think I'm good on the corner. Looked at it through a magnifying glass and I don't see any paper loss damage or even any changes in the texture of the paper. But I don't have a lot of experience, there may have a flaw that shows up under high magnification that I cannot see.

No matter what grade I get I will be happy with the card. It displays better than any Montiel that I have in my collection. I've only seen a couple of them for sale on eBay in the last year. They were offered on high buy-it-now prices that were out of my reach.

Best regards,

Joe

Default Ruths

Hi Gary,

Great pick up on the Ruths. I bid on the one with the yellow border, but obviously my bid wasn't high enough.

Best regards,

Joe
