Nice pick up!
Similar but not as dramatic story. About 20 years ago I was in a local card shop. He had the usual current stuff on display in the front cases and a small side case with not to much interesting things in it. There was a 50 count box with a price tag of "$2.00 each" on it. I'd seen it many times before but never cared to look trough it. When I finally did I found a 1968 Roberto Clemente as well as a 2nd year Wayne Gretzky. I asked the owner if this was a mistake and he said not he knew they were there, he just wanted to see how long it took for someone else to bother to look. That Clemente was my 1st "vintage" card. Personally, I think you got a steal on the 1984 Topps Rick Cerone!

Best deal I have ever got was a t206 Cy Young PSA 5 at a sale for $700 bucks a couple months ago, not the same % gain you got on that Ryan but a huge $ gain. They also had a 56 Mantle PSA 6 for $500, I wish they had more cards.
