HOT - .99 cent starting bids on cards
NOT - Out of this world Buy-It-Now prices

HOT - grandpa's attic. So many cards are found.
NOT - Not doing the research and buying the counterfeit cards.

HOT- E94s and E98s
NOT- E99s and E100s, they really have slipped the past year.

HOT- T205 SPs
NOT- T204s, despite their beauty they are priced lower than in many years.

HOT- 1911 and 1912 Zeenuts.
NOT- Low and mid grade Obaks.

Hi Jeff,

Agree 100% - was going to say the same thing. Cold as ice...even on the highest graded examples out there (PSA 5-6) and even on HOFers.

Cheers,
Blair

Default hot and not hot....

IMO....

Hot: The upcoming Net54 Dinner at the National in Chicago.
Not: The dealers at the National that won't have their stuff priced AND the admission fees to the show.

Hot: The 2011 Detroit Tigers (bad news....we're still in June)
Not: The 2011 Minnesota Twins (bad news for Tiger fans....we're still in June. Yikes!)

Default E98s Shouldn't be hot!

You guys got it all wrong. E98s are not, at least they shouldn't be hot! They are quite worthless in fact so nobody should bid on them...Ok!

Default pretty cool side to this story actually

S. Ostler of the SF Chronicle wrote an article about the Joe D shower pic going up for auction. He ends article #1 by having some fun with the random guy showering next to him. Within 2 days that guy, a 91 year old former ballplayer who happens to be living in SF, read the paper and contacted them. Pretty cool little baseball story... links below...

San Franciscans will appreciate the photo of DiMaggio because many locals prefer to remember Joe as the baseball-crazy North Beach kid, rather than the grimly aloof Manhattan superstar of later years. In this photo: no pinstripes.

Bidders must register by Wednesday at 5 p.m. West Coast time, and initial bids (Lot No. 1071) must be in by Friday at 6 p.m. The bidding was over $1,600 as of Thursday night.

Bonus mystery: Next to DiMaggio in the photo is an unidentified guy. Is it a Yankee teammate? A coach? A stadium peanut vendor? Maybe it's Engelberg, letting down his guard.

Hot- 1948 Bowman Musial SGC/PSA-5 range. Multiple BIN's in $325-$335 range 4-5 months ago... now seeing it sell for $475-$500 everytime.

Not- T202's with respect to their SMR value. Only been collecting them for about 9 mths, notice they almost never command full value.. have been picking up great HOF'ers for between 50-65% of SMR. Great set, great pics, great value. Love it!

What's hot? The Rush concert I just got home from- those guys still sound amazing, they played all of the good old stuff and their show was 3 hours with NO opening band !!!

What's not hot- not having enough $$ at certain times to fuel my T206 addiction and.....noticing certain cards I want on the BST a little too late.
