Hanging around Shea Stadium when I was a kid I managed to get a few balls, but none on the fly. But that's not the good story... The best story I know of catching a ball at the ballpark was from my neighbor across the street. They were annoying Yankee fans and the dad would get prime seats at The Stadium from his boos from time to time. This was in '77 or '78 and the 8 year-old son was a HUGE Reggie Jackson fan. Before the game we were playing catch in the street and the dad comes out to get the kid and go to the game. In front of us, the son makes a deal with his dad saying that if the dad caught a ball, the son gets it. The dad says ok, but if the son catches a ball, the dad gets it. Deal. So 4 hours later the two come back and wouldn't you know it, first couple innings of the game, Reggie hits a foul ball towards their seats and the kid snares it. "Thank-you" says the Dad and takes the ball. Deal's a deal! Boy was that kid pissed! The dad took it to work and put it on his desk. I always thought it was a lousy thing to do to the kid. That family was also the first family I ever knew of that divorced...

I've never got a ball at a game but I've had a re accruing dream of actually getting 6 or 7 in one game.
