thanks for both pics. I have seen the picture side of the postcard from JD's website and I was curious about the other side. The 1890 post office cancellation from Ashland is indeed pretty cool. I wrote to the owner of the property near Ashland, NH. where the first D&M factory was built. I asked him to take some pictures of the ruins.

To have the photo and 1884 envelope as first evidence of the Draper & Maynard partnership as the J.F. Draper Co. is really super. Hope you don't mind if I replace the photo of the Ashland factory in my article with yours. the advertising on the roof of the factory is just great!

I found this one photo which I didn't have space to use of an 1889 Pittsfield NH. baseball team. I wondered if the catcher on bottom right was using Draper & Maynard gloves.
