That is a great ad. Notice how the product was put together to look like a cigarette pack. The candy is shaped like cigarettes and the box conforms to other tobacco packs of the day. It gave the kids a chance to at least feel like an adult.

Great find! Now we know the manufacturer of the candy as well as what type of candy the Baseball Bats came with. I wonder if any of the backs of existing cards suffered licorice stains...I will have to check my example, perhaps even lick it if need be.

If nothing else thought I would put this back on top...anytime that a manufacturer and date of issue of a previously unclassified issue that little has been known about is discovered, it should be big news in our little nook in the hobby. And heck we even know the price of the item, and have a depiction of the box that these cards were cut out of. Once again, great job Jeff.

I agree Brian- This is actually fairly big news. I hope Bob L and Lyman will capture this information on/in their respective venues. Also, it shows what I believe to be the gray background with white borders type card/box. I am guessing there were 3 types of boxes per the cards we generally see.. regards

Wow - that is really amazing. For some reason, I never even considered that the size of the card was about the same as the size of the box. I always thought it would be a larger box - like cereal-sized or something like that.
