Here's one that I have always found interesting. The 1939 Play Ball card of
Rick Ferrell can be found with a big white spot in the background on some small percentage of the cards (probably <10%). Most of the cards have a solid black background. I'm not sure what caused this. I don't think it effects the value any. ![]() ![]() Last edited by DaveW; 03-02-2011 at 12:12 PM. |

Somewhat tangential to the discussion at hand but I have wondered about the white Michelin Man blob found on the Matty Pastime Novelty image. Looks as if somebody was Stalinized from the photo. Anybody know anything?

I've seen a '33 Goudey with a print spot missing (not paper loss) and it got an SGC 70 / 5.5. So, it didn't completely kill the grade.
