Being a heavy comic collector for 20+ years there are a lot of generalizations on this thread that just are not true. There are plenty of books from the 70s and even 80s that have some decent value.
From the 1990s there is very little but there are some things like Ultimate Spiderman that are post 1990s and still have some good value. There are some other odd titles from that period that have value but there are few and far between. That being said it is more likely that what you have are books that will sell for .25-1.00 each. If you want send me a full list and I can double check it for you. Just give me the title and issue number. Spawn one was insanely over printed but was also super popular and does have a touch of value maybe $5 or so. James G

Thanks for the offer James.
I've updated my original message to list all the comics I have. Perhaps you would might take a shot at Groups 2/3, if you feel so inclined? RP has been so kind as to do Group 1. I don't think theres's anything of much value in Group 2. If there's anything in Group 3 that you want specified/might be valuable, let me know. I am worn out from catalogging, so I only put in a list of the odd-titles. Doug |

I'm not trying to be a spoilsport and honestly only wish you the best, but just spot-checking some of your prices I see that most are higher - sometimes even double - what Lone Star (mycomicshop.com) is charging. And they're expert graders, who provide scans and free shipping for purchases over $50. They'd be thrilled, for example, to sell their backstock of Dazzler #1 in VF condition for $0.80 each (or anyone can buy VFNM copies on eBay for $1.00-$1.50).
I've been a comics collector for 30+ years, and IMO it's really, really difficult selling stuff like this. The shipping cost usually exceeds the value of the comics, and comics can't ship as Media Mail (some people do it anyway, but USPS has started spot-inspecting Media Mail and hitting the receiving party with the upcharges on comics - I've had it happen twice already). For that reason, low-value comics are usually sold in lots of 50+ for $10-$20 a batch. |

Thanks for your reply, Karl, as I guess I need to clarify this.
I was not for one second selling those comics for the annotated [in blue] prices. In fact, I have not set any prices; I'll welcome any offers. The prices you see in blue were taken from a price guide by a fellow board member who freely offered to look them up for me--They are his research. I was not suggesting those prices--I know that they're way inflated. I have little idea of prices [only what I've learned in the last week or so, and that's that these are not worth much], but I'll go back and edit the post to make sure that all this is clear. |
