This is the 1927 Yankees team photo. It is from the same lot that David's(Kawicka) pics are from.
The gentleman I bought the group from inherited them from his father who took the pics during spring training. It matches perfectly with the official Spring training team photo that is out there except for a slightly different angle. I've never seen a team snapshot like this. Does anyone else have anything similar? ![]() Another couple of Gehrig snaps. ![]() ![]() There are a few pics of these two guys making faces and such. Do they look familiar to anyone. I haven't been able to identify if they are actors, comedians, or famous at all. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Mark: The guy on the left looks to me a lot like the '30's radio comedian Joe Penner (who was famous for coining the catchphrase "Wanna buy a duck?"). The guy on the right looks like someone I've seen before but my brain isn't giving up a name or even a guess.

Those are two of the Ritz Brothers in your photos, Lordstan.
Definitely Harry on the left with the hat; I believe it's brother Al on the right. ![]() ![]() It also seems that Barack Obama's father and Mayberry town drunk Otis Campbell are sitting behind them.... Last edited by Oldtix; 01-27-2011 at 10:32 PM. |

I defer to Rick P.'s knowing eye. One look at their proboscises is all you need to know that these guys are brothers. Penner was just a semi-educated guess.

Great photos Jonathan...they come from the same collection as the Eddie Collins that I posted way at the top of this thread. (Since sold to a forum member)
