Brian- feel free to end a sentence with a preposition around here!
My experience with the E107 set is limited, but I've found Waddell to be the HOFer that turns up most often. Certainly won't suggest it's common, but it's in a whole different category than say Joe Kelley. Last edited by barrysloate; 12-21-2010 at 11:11 AM. |

How many Kelley's have you come across Barry?

Exactly zero. But I've had at least a few Waddells, including a type 2.

I wouldn't doubt back in 2006 or 2007 it may have fetched 30k, just my own opinion is it would be more towards 20k right now with the economy....but, as they say it only takes two bidders.
Barry - Wasn't there a Joss in a higher grade than a 4 that sold a year or two ago? I was thinking there was like a Joss in a 60 or 70 holder that may have fetched over 50k? I may be confusing it with another player. |

I don't know if I've seen an E107 Joss. That's got to be a tough one, and if it's in a 60 holder...well that would be a very special card.

Joss isn't all that tough relatively speaking (w/o consideration to grade), Kelley is though.

Well I got up off my lazy butt and looked up the E107 Joss. I must have been wrong..not seeing where a SGC 60 or 70 has sold. There has been a 40 Joss sold that went for 13k and change back in 2008.
Based on that....I'd still say a PSA 4 or SGC 50 Waddell wouldn't be more than 20k.... |

Thanks Rob. Not a common card.

That's one beautiful looking Joss! (and Kevin is highly recommended in case anyone doesn't know him).
By comparison, I'm sure that Waddell has more fans / collectors than Kelley so that helps the value of the Waddell. In fact, many players that "died too young" seem to have a pretty strong following in the collector's realm. Delahanty, Joss, Waddell, Gehrig, and Clemente come to mind, but I'm sure there are others. Waddell was such an eccentric bird that he's a favorite. Since we are on the topic, here's my E107 Waddell.
