I like the retro sets. My only complaint is that Topps spells out all of the numbers on the Allen and Ginter sets ("two thousand and ten" instead of "2010"). Even in the 1880s, they used numerals instead of spelling them out in words.

I am a bit neutral on it. I would say that anything which gets collectors into checking out the real vintage cards is good for our hobby. It's always fun to have more collectors to collect with. I have no interest in collecting any new players though. (as mentioned before) regards

I like them. If they could put to use some of the old unused images that the Topps Vault sells now (color negatives) onto some of the classic card designs instead of new players, I'd like it even more. Maybe they have and I just haven't seen any. I don't buy very much of the new products anymore.
I don't really understand why they reprint the same exact card. They have done this in some of the newer football sets (ie. 1957 Topps and newer) over the last 8 years or so. Why would I want a 2001 Topps recreation of a 1972 Topps Roger Staubach RC and all its parallels...chrome ect.?? |
