I think its fantastic.
First of all, Topps continues to make their regular, standard "new" sets each year (the 2010 Topps set, which my 10-year-old collects, is one of the most beautiful card sets ever, IMO). Second, I think they're doing a great job showing reverence and respect for the history of the hobby, as well as the history of the game. They have absolutely gotten my son interested in vintage cards, and vintage baseball in general. And I just think a lot of them look really COOL. The A&G cards are fantastic. They also made some really, really cool "B-18 Blankets" that looked virtually identical to the originals - one of these days I'm going to build a set of them. -Al |
