Scott -- it's actually Schulz's file copy of the strip -- I've included a tighter shot here.
And Shoeless Moe -- thanks for combining threads!

The Peanuts strip is great, particularly with the letter from Mr. Schulz. Very nice item.

At some point, original baseball comic strips deserve their own thread here.

Default 1903 Scorebook with Cuban Giants games

Picked up another scorebook with a couple of Negro Cuban Giants barnstorming games along with games against the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago White Sox, a Spalding team and several dozen more games against local teams. This was the official scorebook for the Corning, NY team which, apparently, was a local powerhouse. The scorebook was a gift from the Spalding Company to the local newspaper reporter.

I've got another scorebook for the 1904 Norwich, NY team which also has a couple of games against these same Cuban Giants. The Giants must have hit every small town, several times, in New York during that time period.

I agree with Max on both points.

Christmas came early for me... in this extremely rare 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 TYPE 1 photo of the Fab Four just after Ringo joined the group...

Jimmy- a news crew came to the Cavern Club on August 22, 1962, to do a short piece about a band that was starting to cause some local excitement. Ringo had been with them for less than a week. I wonder if this is a still from that day? If you youtube "beatles cavern" you can view the full performance (two songs).

Greg, I LOVE that Schulz piece. That man was an absolute genius. Aside from those Peanuts strips tugging on the ol' heart strings, you can't really beat the baseball content!!

Shoeless, I really dig that postcard too. Do we know if they're any clear photographs of Brother Mathias floating around out there? I seem to recall seeing a few from the 30s or so, usually with Babe. I'd love to see some images of him from the 1910s...

Rob, that scorebook is really awesome!! In all of the research that I've done on those older games, it's usually VERY hard to find play-by-play accounts. I would imagine that in many cases, those books are all that's left to remember those contests by. How many more do you have?

Thanks so much Barry!

You're spot on as well. There is little or no doubt that my photo was indeed snapped on the same day you're referring to. I watched three different versions, and am completely convinced that the photo matches the film!

Thanks again Barry... my best, Jimmy

Picked up this vintage football sideline jacket from my alma mater. Any football items are tough to get since they disbanded the program after the 86 season. Not sure on the age but I'm thinking 50's maybe earlier.

Default Super rare baseball bobbing head

I just got in this incredibly hard to find bobbing head from the 60's L.A. Dodgers Wierdo series. It's a hip nodder (bobs at the waist) and is only the second one of these that I've seen in over 25 years in the hobby.

That is a killer piece, Lou....

I love the Dodger Weirdos... they are so fun, and capture that early '60s style as well as anything out there. A couple of questions...

* Will that amazing Hip Nodder be showing up in a future ITPC Auction?

* Were you able to acquire any of the other Dodger Weirdos along with that one?

I am looking for a nice example, as you can probably tell form the nature of this post. I like the Screwball Guy best, but would be happy to acquire any one of the set (if someone out there is considering selling/trading). Looking for one with no chips, cracks, repairs.... thanks!
