The slab arrived broken and split at the seam across the bottom up to the middle. The card is fine though, so... whatever.

Jeff,
Nice T205 Wheat! I never get tired of Zach and his pimp tilt hat poses.
Mathew,
That Blue Ribbon is awesome too!
Bob

I think I may start a Zach Wheat and the Pimp Tilt Hat collection.

Small upgrade, still looking for a higher grade. Love this one though.

from the recent group, no back damage! would trade for a similar condition in blue or green. i don't think any back is tougher, just prefer other 2 to red.

(FYI i'll start an e98 back scarcity debate when i'm ready to sell...not gonna be subtle either will link to ebay/bst)

Default First ones in awhile...

added to my T206 collection this week with some nice looking examples...one for my Milwaukee team set (McGann), one for my T206 Classic Images set (Murphy), and one just because I had to have it (Cicotte)!

I really need to be careful about this T206 thing...I am starting to accumulate this set, and that may be something I need to start monitoring! Perhaps my first clue was that I am collecting multiple subsets of the T206 set...if I put them all together, it starts to add up fast...

Edited to add: Gotta love the different scanning sizes...makes the Cicotte look like some sort of special size Preimum issue! cool...

Greg:

Fantastic pieces!!!

Did you just pick all of those up or did you already own them and just get them framed?

Hi Phil,

I counted these as a pickup because I just found them helping my parents clean out their house -- we bought them in these frames in the late 1960s. They had gone forgotten in my parents house all these years.

WOW, Greg, that's quite a find and in your family's hands for all of these years. That's a great story and I'm sure you know that those pieces are quite valuable. I hope that you enjoy them!

Default Tough, tough Domino Disc

I don't know why this one is so darn tough (maybe because he is a Jewish player), but I was very happy to get this one tonight on the Bay for a great price. Also, gearing up for the playoffs with a couple of Joe Maurer autographed jerseys

Thanks, guys. As for the price, I was also surprised that the card went for so little -- the Cubs version, in a much lower grade, went for significantly more (granted, the grade was lowered due to the card being postally used).

Someday, I think, we will all be "postally used"...

...and nice card, by the way.

Default Great month for a Bender.........

Although impossible to compete with TBob's Mauer Jerseys which are the coolest thing I have seen in some time I had a great month for Bender. The blue striped cap Crofts puts a new meaning on OC as in Octagon, but I couldn't be happier with it and it's companion white cap, very lucky to pick up both versions at once that have such nice color and clean images !!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then I upgraded a T227 and T206 Old Mill, I questioned why I was doing it but couldn't have worked out better and the cards I upgraded ended up in great collections so that was a nice bonus as well.

Default This month's Pick Up Thread has been awesome!

I've really enjoyed looking at everyone's pickups this month! (Talking about cards only, now) So many amazing and unusual things in this thread. Some of my favorites are the many different and interesting Baseball Postcards that are coming out of the woodwork, Honey Boys, many beautiful Goudeys, T206s with cool, rarer backs, E98s (My favorite Cards!) especially the Lajoies, and my favorite this month...... the mass of C46s!!!!!
Congratulations to everyone for their pickups! Thanks for sharing them.
Best Wishes,
Tim Kindler

Thanks guys !! TBob I'm not sure if the blue background is tougher on Crofts but could be, I know the blue back is tougher on many of the Caramels and really tough on some but also think that in certain issues the white cap is a little tougher like the e105 mellow mints, but that could be the only one, not sure.

But they are my first two T cards, and they arrived on the same day. I can see how this could be an addictive problem!

Clint, I already have this photo, but it's on a different backer....now if I could just find one that doesn't have damage to that left side.
