"Other notables born that day:

Percy Bysshe Shelly
Louis Armstrong
Barak Obama
Meg Whitman
Billy Bob Thornton"

Is that some new variant spelling of Barack?

Default April 4

I am happy to say that there were quite a few good baseball players born on my birthday (April 4) including Tris Speaker, Gil Hodges, Joe Vosmik, Mickey Owen, Ray Fosse, Jim Fregosi and Scott Rolen. Ex-commissioner Bart Giamatti was also born on that day.

Other notables: Maya Angelou, Robert Downey Jr, Dale Hawerchuk, Heath Ledger, Craig T. Nelson and Muddy Waters.

I was also born of February 6th, as was Bob Marley. I always thought it was cool to share a birthday with the "Babe" and Bob Marley.

Valentine's day is almost completely void of any decent players, but has a couple of great names.

Best hitter is Candy LaChance. Insert joke here.

Best pitcher is Pretzels Getzien.
