Early helmets
Picked up a couple of nice early football helmets lately.
The first is a pretty rare Princeton style helmet that came from the estate of a USC player in the late teens. He wrote/painted the score of the 1918 USC Stanford game on the front, and also wrote scores of other USC vs Cal games and USC vs Stanford games on the helmet as well. It is crazy how little protection the helmet would have provided, as its not very thick leather.  The second helmet is a circa 1910 Draper and Maynard Flat top style leather helmet. I have wanted one of these flat tops for a while, and even though I have started to sell of some of my collection, I decided to go for it.
