My dad and I used to go to postcard shows together. A lady had just sold some baseball postcards to a dealer my dad knew. The dealer called my dad over because he knew I collected baseball postcards. Well after some negotiations we settled on a deal. My dad sacrificed some great postcards from his collection so I could get this card.

T206, M101-5/4, T210, Deadball Era Red Sox type set, Minor Leagues type set, N172 "One Card per Team," and 1858-1918 New England baseball. Although I have started and stopped many projects over the years, one card changed everything:
![]() The set, pose, background, and player birthplace make this my best card. Once I had it in hand, I sold off my other projects and made the decision to focus solely on Massachusetts born players from the N172 set.

Very cool card, Clint, and with that story behind it I can see
it's one of the priceless cards in your collection. Here's my best... was my holy grail and on my searchlist for 5 or 6 yrs. Still can't believe this card is absent of the standard caramel stains. I may sell off my collection one day, but they will have to fight the rigor mortis when they peel this Cobb from my hands. ![]() ![]() |

Amazing color and registration on that one, Chuck. Nice avatar, too.

I don't care what anyone says about this card, it's a cool one to look at.

Chuck, that's my holy grail too. Ever since I peeled it out of one of those Dover reprint books when I was 7 years old. I can't post on this thread because I don't have one yet.

Thanks Chuck and you're exactly right. That card is never going anywhere. The CJ Cobb of yours looks damn nice especially for a 1914. Great cards everyone and a great thread.
