I believe the answer is included in the streetball scene towards the beginning of The Pride of the Yankees. One of the kids mentions having some "Sweet CAP-oral" cards.
Oh, and as for Goudey, everything I've seen and heard indicates it's pronounced "GOW-dee", as in Curt Gowdy. Steve Last edited by Steve D; 07-12-2010 at 12:47 PM. |

The family members of the people who ran it also referred to it as "gow-dey," which is why I no longer call it "goo-dey" like I did for 20+ years.
