That is probably about right. I have tracked sales of the Baltimore News Ruth over the years. According to my notes, in 1999 one of the nicest examples in the hobby (VG-EX) sold in an auction for around $30K and a Poor example sold in another auction for around $8K. I am sure that both would bring 10x to 20x those prices today.
