Matt, I'm sure GSB will take off like wildfire once it gets going but considering that there is not a single bid on any of the 17 cards closing within the next four days, I also would be thrilled if the original poster placed his cards on GSB.

Thanks Jeff - actually the items closing over the next 4 days are fixed price listings, so they wouldn't have any bids - though several cards from that group have already sold. The auction style listings ending beyond 4 days do have a number of bids.

Well, most of them are fixed price. But most of the other items up for bid which are not fixed price do not have any bids or any bidding of any note. Again, I have no doubt that eventually GSB will be a great tool for buyers of prewar cards but at this time I'd be hard pressed to say with a straight face that it is presently garnering even ebay-level prices. Again, no doubt it will eventually as it's an awesome idea.

But in all seriousness, I was wondering if you guys had thought of starting your own mini-National: pick a centrally located city and have a handful of dealers set up in a small location selling cards which are not at inflated prices? Considering the number of Net 54 members who are focused solely on prewar cards, couldn't such an endeavor be successful?

I think this is a terrific idea, Jeff. A sort-of mini-Net54 convention and card show. No swarms of the unwashed shiny card masses, no square miles of shmata. Not beholden to pencilling out huge arena floor space factors and other logistical concerns. Sounds great on paper. But my mind's eye keeps inserting "pick a centrally located steakhouse" into what you've written and I think, well, it's nice to dream.
