EDITED TO ADD: Agree with the poster 2 posts above!! Alan - As a Knick fan I know where you are coming from because we have sacrificed many draft picks for "big names". However if we were to have the 3 year run the Celtics have I would have been very glad to trade those picks. Many times draft choices do not work out.

It's always worth draft choices if the end result is you win a championship. You never know what you will get in the draft. Look at the Knicks. They almost always get a high draft pick and hardly any of them ever pan out. I would trade the Knicks last ten draft picks for even a single title.
Oops- Rob said the same thing as me. I missed it! Last edited by barrysloate; 06-18-2010 at 09:17 AM. |

I agree. Ask us Bullets/Wizards fans how Kwame Brown has done as the #1 draft pick back in 2001.
Barry - Did you like Art Heyman as the Knicks # 1 choice in the 1960's ? ![]() ![]()

I am no Kobe fan but I have to admit he deserved the MVP. True he didn't score many points in the final game, and he shot poorly in the first half, but there is no question he ran the team and made the victory happen. Case in point was trusting Artest and dishing him the ball at such a clutch moment, despite the fact that Artest hadn't been shooting the ball great. People criticized Kobe for scoring too much in game 5 when the Lakers still lost, and they still criticize him when he is unselfish with the ball and leads his team to victory. No doubt he deserved MVP.
If the Celtics had stayed healthy throughout this series I think they would have won. Why did Doc Rivers bench Rondo so much in the 4th quarter? Made no sense to me, he was the only Celtic that was having a good game. |

Art Heyman= not so good.
How about when they drafted Frederic Weis in the first round? He never even spoke to them after the draft, and never played a minute in the NBA. Didn't they know this kid wasn't interested? |
