Well, it's a nice looking card for that money (and a pretty inconspicuous trim job).
It all comes down to how much the trimming bothers you. What I've found is that eventually, you might want one that's unaltered, and just knowing it's trimmed will bother you. So you would eventually be in a position to sell this one. The price seems right, given the trimming (it would go for over $2K in similar state, if not trimmed). So it's simply your preference... pay a lot less for this atttractive example, or pay lots more for an un-trimmed one. For the $575, I might prefer this one to a creased and worn-down G-VG example. But I would definitely break it out of that God-awful slab... and I've heard those Beckett slabs are difficult to crack. Last edited by perezfan; 05-24-2010 at 10:00 AM. |

All things considered $575 is a good price if the trimming doesn't bother you. I've seen nice looking trimmed green Cobb cards sell in the $800+ range before.

welcome aboard!!
nice looking Cobb. i'd normally say it's a bit high for a trimmed but it presents so well and is such a beaut, i'd say go for the figure. best, barry |

Welcome to the board !! I don't like trimmed cards,so wouldn't personally buy it-but if that doesn't bother you, I wouldn't say it was a bad price........maybe he would come down a little on the price for you?
Either way,welcome!! Sincerely,Clayton |

I agree. Maybe even $450. The trimming DOES matter to me though. If you don't mind it...it is still a noce looking Cobb.

Personally, the disclosed trimming on this card doesn't bother me as much as the
white specks to the left of Ty's face and on his chin. I would make sure that isn't paper loss. It detracts enough visually that I might pass on it for that price. |
