Not to be a buzz kill, but are you sure that the photo is the same one used on the patch? The scans make it seem that the placement of the glove and the position of Koufax's left hand are different in the two images. Even the expression on his face seems a little different. I'm probably wrong; just wanted to throw it out there.

Thanks Scott. The photo is dated 1961 and the patch 1964.

Good eye Rob! However it's a good thing I'm not that anal about stuff like that.

Here is a TYPE I photo of Gehrig and Ott and the companion piece "Famous Sluggers" booklet. Once again, not a perfect match, but once displayed together, that pretty much doesn't matter.

Where do you find this stuff Jimmy? I agree though, you can't be too anal about some of this or it will drive you mad.

Plus, how far his pitching arm extends beyond his left leg.

Plus, the different background scene, seen between his legs...

Lots of subtle differences, but it's still a wonderful companion piece (taken by the same photographer during the same photo shoot). That is the first patch of that type I have ever seen... and still in its original packaging, no less. Has to be insanely rare... another amazing tie-in by Jimmy!

Default Terrific photos Mark...

Lordstan - "OK had a busy week or two"

I would say so! Two flat out terrific Gehrig images and a nice looking Matty with fellow HOFer Edd Roush.

Well done Mark, well done.

I did nail this sweet TYPE I Mickey Mantle by Don Wingfield...

Just send the cards to Coach's--I'm sure they can get 'em signed for you.

Beautiful photos, Mark.
