I live in central Iowa and know a little bit about local land prices.
Good cropland around here sells for 4-, 5-, even $6000 per acre. I don't know the quality of the soils upon which the Field rests but I suppose they're comparable. Given that, $700,000-$1 million would not be an unreasonable sale price. $5.4 is probably wishful thinking. I'll actually be driving right by there tomorrow. I'll stop by and pay my respects before it's a Field of Soybeans again. mm
