His name is Levi, and I think he's a pretty nice guy. I also think he might own a T206 or two http://www.psacard.com/SetRegistry/O...ts.aspx?m=2935

That being said, I've also had zero luck in making offers on his cards.

that's his entire stores inventory on the PSA set registry.....LOL. I have no problem with "Levi" making a profit on cards, but then there is such thing as gouging and I think charging $500 for a $70 card is just that.

Can you gouge on cards? I know you can on essential items such as gas, milk, and bread, but cards?

Just do like I do Dave, click "Auctions Only". I know it's tempting to make an offer on one of the "museum antiquities", but 99% of the time it will just make you upset.

I think there are still deals on Ebay, not as many as before, and not usually on tougher or more in demand stuff. It's pretty easy to pick up raw t206s that will grade reasonably well for less than what they'd go for graded. Not always, but once in a while. I've got a small batch I got waiting to be sent out.

And earlier this year I found a card poorly listed as something like 20's baseball card. Crummy tiny picture too but it was an R300, a beater like my others. Got it for $40, which I think is pretty good considering what the last reasonably nice one went for- around 1K for a nice VG, maybe slightly better.

This isn't exactly recent, but 2 or 3 years ago there was a very nice grouping of W553's which aren't exactly common cards. The group contained three different uncut strips including a Ruth and Gehrig. I don't remember what the final price was, but it was waaaaay lower than the cards are worth. They were in a scapbook and the winner soaked them out and presented them to the board in the following thread.

Perhaps he could repost the images if he sees this.

I was watching this lot and forgot to put a snipe on them. I was kicking myself for weeks!

Anyways, I definately think you can still find deals on eBay.

Best regards,

AndyH
