Default Lot #297

Did a board member end up getting lot number 297?

i was willing to go up to 15K.. and that was already more then I could afford... but 20K after the premium was too rich for my blood..

if the winner is a board member I would be interested in several pieces.

This card sort of jumped out at me when I first browsed the auction online, but I figured that it would sell for more than I wanted to pay. When I woke up on the couch at 3:30 a.m. Sunday and saw what it was at, I decided to enter one bid and one bid only. Luckily it was the high bid, and just as fortunately, Jeff P. decided not to pull the trigger again. Even though it's not a Lajoe, I'm pretty thrilled to add a card to my collection that I never thought I would.

Tbob, I won the Speaker Blomes back you mentioned, along with the Wagner Blomes back, the 4 Clement bros. major leaguers, lot 173 mixed pre-war, and lot 326 t205s with 3 Mattys and 22 caramel cards. Underbidder on a few including the e97 set. Now have to hijack liquor truck to pay for this.

Jerry, congrats! Glad to see Speaker and Wagner going to a good home. I was really amazed at the final hammer prices. Nice pickups on the other cards also. You are back in to the card world bigtime!

Default 1960 Kahns Weiners

I was fighting pretty hard for the 1960 Kahn's lot of 53 with 3 Clemente's, but just less than hard enough. Anyone here win or happen to know who won it - really interested in the SGC 88 Clemente. If any of you out there happen to have rare or unusual Clemente items that you might consider selling (if for no other reason than helping to pay for all your REA winnings) please contact me. Congrats to all the winners.

-Howard

Ps. I know this is primarily a pre war thread, but it also seems that it is the most active REA thread.
