Definitely keep them raw. Why waste money on slabs to protect a beater when you can use that money to buy more beaters? Not much value in having a professional grader distinguish between poor to good.

SGC has a special now for $6 a card, $250 max value per card, 10 card minimum. You don't need to pay a pricey annual membership fee either, just send an order in when you want, quit when you want. I like SGC because it doesn't use those stupid qualifiers, which don't make any sense to me.

I'm often surprised that some cards that I didn't think much of end up good or VG.

Yea, I know it doesn't make financial sense, but I still like to put them in slabs for some, probably stupid reasons. First there are a lot of counterfeit/reprint (which don't say reprint on the card) 33 Goudey's, so I just like to know that all of my cards are authentic. Also, it makes my collection nice and uniform when they're in slabs. And here's the dumbest reason of all. I like the feeling that the cards now have a nice comfortable "home" now even though they are beaters. I know, crazy.

Thanks for the advice, however. I'm pretty sure I'll just go with SGC.
