The other (rarer) Rittgers set is in there too... just to the left of the window divider. Great shot!

Default Joe E. Brown - a noteworthy collector

His prized possessions included Hall of Famer Tris Speaker's spikes from the 1920 World Series; Pittsburgh Pirate Paul Waner's bat from one of Big Poison's National League batting title years (Waner's younger brother Lloyd, also an excellent hitter, was known as "Little Poison"); a Babe Ruth bat from the Bambino's legendary 60-home run season in 1927; and Gas House Gang pitcher Dizzy Dean's St. Louis Cardinals uniform from the 1934 World Series, which eventually found its way to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Brown's most prized item, however, was a gift from his New York Yankee pal Lou Gehrig. At the end of the 1939 season, in which Gehrig had given his now celebrated "luckiest man on the face of the Earth" speech (after being forced from the game by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), the "Iron Horse" gave Brown his last first baseman's glove which he played his 2,130 consecutive games. It meant everything to Gehrig, but he wanted to make sure it would pass into hands that would truly cherish it. Joe kept these many trophies in his Room of Love:

Of interest - Cobb gave this jersey to Brown which was part of a big Upper Deck promotion a few years back:

Does anyone know where the Gehrig 2000th game trophy is, because i remember philip weiss auctions sold a piece that may have been the top of the trophy and wondered whether it was or not.

Nowhere near the scale of the items you guys have been sharing, but here are pictures of vendors hawking Opening Day programs from the first games at Citi Field last year...

April 3, 2009: the first Mets game at Citi Field - an exhibition game v. the Boston Red Sox...

April 13, 2009: the very first Major League game at Citi Field - Mets v. the San Diego Padres...

When they have giveaway days, I like to take pictures of the items being given away... in this context the "money shots" are the ones showing the items at the moment they're being handed to the fans, and the ones showing quantities of the giveaway item.

Since this forum deals with historic memorabilia, I'll show some pictures of the "Citi Field Replica" given away to fans attending the August 23, 2009 game against Philadelphia... that was the game that ended on Eric Bruntlett's unassisted triple play, only the second time ever that a game ended in such a fashion...

I sold this last year, but it was a REALLY cool photo. Venders selling 1915 Cracker Jacks with a display set up with some cards being shown. The Honus Wagner card is leaning against some of the boxes to promote them. I have never seen another vintage photo with anything but common T cards in them so this was pretty unique.
