The Bucs won today, and it is sure is more fun when we win.

Yanks lost, Mets won, Giants won.

David- I'm a lifelong Giants fan too.

Default I will be selling my Cubs cards...

After 27 years, I have decided that there is little reason to live like this. I don't accept this kind of performance in any other aspect of my life....and when you consider they have been doing this for 75 years BEFORE I even started following them, that makes it actually, more than a little ridiculous.

A team of howler monkeys must have a statistically better chance of breaking through and winning a championship one year than what the Cubs have demonstrated over the past 102 seasons.

Edited to add: It would be different if I thought they were trying. But they can't be. Opening Day is the one game for which you have the most prep time in the entire season. To get it that wrong...I am seriously rethinking my allegiance. I haven't dropped it completely yet, but we're getting closer than ever.

They were, Dan. (And, as is usually done, I have passed that down to my sons.)

But I will never forgive the present organization (those bastard Steinbrenners) for tearing down Yankee Stadium.

(I am still the historical Yankees guy, tho, say 1903-1939, and the collection continues.)

I agree with David that tearing down Yankee Stadium was blasphemous. There was nothing wrong with the old park, and it was torn down purely to add luxury suites. And now all the good seats are so expensive most fans are priced out.

But I'll still watch them for free on TV.

Tim Lincecum's the real deal...no two ways about that. For my teams, locally the Padres...oh the Padres. Don't get me started. On a long distance note, I expect my Yankees to have another great year. And even if they dont, only 251 more hits for Jeter to get 3000.

Lincecum is listed as 5' 11" and 160 lbs....how does he do it? Back-to-back Cy Youngs, and arguably the best in the game right now.

Default Barry, his father is a genius...

It's all about torque and leverage
I just hope the throwing motion is properly designed so as to not wear out the various pivot points too early...

The same way that guys like Pedro Martinez...and even Bobby Shantz did it. I never saw Shantz so he may have been a junkballer or had a great curve..never looked into it, but I know he was tiny.

edited to add: I'm more amazed by a guy like CC Sabathia who must weigh 300 lbs and he can still pitch.

Hopefully pretty soon he will be pitching every fifth day to Buster Posey behind the dish. I'll be a big Giants fan when that happens.
