Now that I've seen all of those terrific arcade games, I'm feeling like I have to have maybe just one for my collection.

Yes, they all work great. I was a real stickler for condition.... probably borderline OCD. The big Pitch & Hit Machine has a couple of burnt out lights but is really fun to play and works great. I play it a lot with my kids' friends who come over, and have never seen anything like it. They think it's so "old school", compared to the XBox and Play Station games they do practically every day. The feature I like best is the runners who circle the bases under the curved window.

This one is from the early 1950s. They started making them with more features and multiple players in the later '50s and '60s. But this one has more charm with the wood rails and early graphics. The Marvel Game is just an exercise in futility. You shoot the ball and then have to try to guess where it's going, and position the fielder below it. But the little pegs derail it every time and throw you off. Also, to move the fielder, you have to turn the knob in the opposite direction you want him to go. This makes it feel awkward and adds to the difficulty. Every now and then, I get lucky and catch one. This one takes the most practice of any arcade game I've ever played. There's another tough one (that I'll post later), with a spiral ball path. It is almost as difficult.

I keep that big one in the Living Room. It was the only place I could fit it in. Plus, the movers didn't want to mess with any stairs. It's kind of an eye sore to some people (and granted, it probably doesn't belong in a Living Room). But it brings lots of enjoyment and reminds me of simpler days. I used to love playing these as a kid. Disneyland even had a bunch of them lined up in their arcade on Main Street.

Also... I love the look of your "Hit a Homer" game... great graphics! Can you briefly describe how it's played? It looks simple, but I can't tell how scoring would occur. Is it a fun one to play?

Here are a few more toy and game odds and ends:

Mark -- The Giants/A's World Series game is pretty simplistic -- when the four-tipped spinner stops, you look first at the spinner pointing to home plate and it's pointing at what has just happened to the batter -- then the other three tips of the spinner tell you what happens to whatever runners are on at the time. there are little discs with the palyers names on them that you move around the base paths. There are also great graphics of people in the stands between first and third that you can't see in the photo.

It looks like we have the same Williams Deluxe pinball game -- here's a closeup of the playing field.

Ricky -- what the heck is #20 doing in your Little League game???!!!

And I can't believe we have the same Williams Deluxe Pinball Machine! It is not one you see often, and is really one of the rarer/earlier Pitch & Hit Machines. Yours looks great! I like the red marquis at the top of yours.
