This information is probably not well known in the hobby, but Jake Beckley appears on an 1887 Team cabinet photo of the Lincoln Tree Planters.

This image came out of an old auction catalog and is as good as I can get it.

Dan:

That's an awesome cabinet card picturing Beckley which I never knew existed, thanks for sharing it!

Since it is a team composite cabinet, we are going to hold off on including it in our database as we have made a conscious decision not to include team cards, ie T200's, W601 Postcards, etc. We feel that the general concensus among Rookie Card collectors is that Rookie Cards are individual player (and occasionally dual or quadruple) cards.

Phil,

Here's my final four. I'm not sure of the year of the Brock, but it's no later than '64 since he's a Cub. The Ford is postmarked January 12, 1954.

I've also included a scan you'll need pretty soon -- the 1967 Venezuelan Bobby Cox.

Thanks a lot for the scans, Paul. We are now 4 1/2 steps closer to completion!

Hey Phil,

Here's a couple of PCs you may not know about. The Smokey Joe Williams is a PC made of a 1985 painting by Deryl Daniel Mackie, in conjunction with a traveling art exhibition called "Diamonds Are Forever: Artists and Writers on Baseball," which took place in 1987 (hence the date that I assigned it on my label). The postcard was published by The Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati.

The 2nd PC is an autographed government issue of George Weiss, supposedly made during the 1950s, though I'm not really certain of the date. I've included a scan of the back of this one.

Hope these help.
