Unless it offends your moral sensibilities, I would get an art eraser from Staples and gently erase the pencil. Don't use a standard eraser! It is faint enough that there would probably be no trace of it.

Does the front have a gloss to it? It almost looks like a coating of some kind has been applied, which I guess might give it a thicker feel?
