I like the Expos choice myself but I thought the player had the final word on what uniform he enters the HOF in.
I'm a bit ignorant on the matter. Have there been other cases a player requested to go in for one team and the HOF said no, we're putting you in with somebody else? |

Gary Carter wanted to go in as an Expo, did he?
must be odd to be enshrined as a great for a team that no longer exists

(i think) the hall decides what uniform the player would be in, as a result of wade boggs getting xtra $$$$ from tampa in the late 90s if and when he was inducted to go in as a devil ray.

I believe the HOF took away an inductee's right to choose because of persistent reports of incentives offered by teams for a player to choose their cap. Considering the number of multi-team stars that will someday be inducted and the greed of ballplayers this is probably a good policy.
