1933 Goudey sheet cut cards

Welcome to the board. In my opinion, the cut looks "off" and I seriously doubt PSA would slab that card anything other than "authentic". The tilt is not even, edges look odd, and some of the cuts near the corners are suspicious. My guess is they will deem it trimmed. It is a nice looking card. Just offering my .02 on the possibility of getting a numerical grade.

In the early 1990's (seems so long ago...) I purchased a small lot of '1933 Goudey cards from an old-time dealer that came from a cut sheet. I kept some and sold the rest when I discovered eBay. Your card will grade, but only as authentic.

i agree...that card will be deemed trimmed...nice card though.

I'm not attempting to make a universal rule, but I had some sheet cut 1948 Bowmans and they were obviously scissor cut from a sheet. No subtlty about them. For me, I'd trust a sheet cut label when the card is oversized, at least in areas. When a card is oversized, that answers a lot of questions.

A sheet cut card would grade "authentic," so in that respect its on par with trimmed. To me, the only way a sheet cut card gets a financial premium is if its way oversized, a scrap or proof. In other words, whether the Pennock is sheet cut or trimmed, I don't see the big difference.

Jeff please let us know what this card gets when you get it back from PSA. Since you were so kind to comment on the Pennock I had listed in the BST, I'd love to get the opportunity to give you my 2 cents on yours.
