Default Response direct from seller....

My question to him:

"What gives you the confidence to claim as boldly as you do that there was a NAT'L in that space at one point which was rubbed off?

A much, much, much more likely scenario is just simple paper loss .... is there something that you know would give you a different impression?"

His response:
"I am just pointing out the area of interest on my Joe Doyle PSA card. It looks like the previous owner might have erased something. I recently purchased the PSA card off ebay and it could sell for more.
Good Luck Bidding!
Mike V."

So what's with all the hype ?! Sounds like a WAY different story than his listing. Makes for good drama though.

I just read one persons question to the seller shown at the bottom of the auction. He completely failed to answer the question which would have taken all of one short sentence.

According to his past auction wins, he won it from 707 Sports

I thought that I would fish for some information, so I asked that question at the bottom. I followed it up with another question...Did he feel that this was one of the three or four rare Doyle error cards that had been graded by PSA?

His response:
Dear Ron:
Well, I show a close up view of the card and to me it looks like PSA over looked the area of interest. In the eyes of PSA it is not the error card but there is still a chance it could be. I am sure it will sell next Sunday.
Thank you,
Mike V.

It sounds to me like he is well aware of what he is selling, but hoping that the bidding gets out of control somewhere along the way. The $329,000 title is certainly misleading hype. I guess he feels that the close-up view somehow justifys the questionable description.

I think that Mike V. and the two gentlemen selling that "special wagner" should get together and start a T206 set.

The guy in the middle is Burt Mustin...played Gus the Fireman on "Leave it to Beaver", among many other TV roles.

How did "Burt Mustin's" name end-up in a prewar baseball card discussion group(?)...........I'll never know, but this guy was a busy dude the last 20 years of his life. His face is probably as recognizable as a T206 Wagner. Old Burt's other TV roles...
