Undervalued Bob? Not sure I can agree with you there, but maybe after I finish both sets I'll be onboard.

Rob-- yes, in Bob's world sets immediately become undervalued at the moment you complete them ... actually, in my world too
![]() Thanks for all your encouragement, guys-- I know posts like this are sort of vanity posts, but every once in a while everybody deserves a little of that, I guess. Tim |

Bob and Tim,
When did you guys start your M116 sets? I remember buying a couple about 10 years ago off of ebay and thinking that they were so cheap that there must be something wrong with them. Bob, what were the last few cards you needed for your set? Also, do you guys collect the blue backgrounds or just have player sets? Anyone else out there collecting this set? Rob |

Rob,
I bought my first M116s about ten years ago-- three really nice commons from our own David Rudd for $25 each-- come to think of it, that does sound cheap now. I was hooked pretty much from that point, although my progress was never fast. One notable thing about M116s is how difficult it is to find large groups of them. I basically bought mine 1, 2, and 3 at a time. I decided to go with pastel poses only. I have some blues but I'm not too worried about them-- when I find a good deal on ones I need, I do it. Same with alternate backs like the low-series "300" backs. I guess I'm a "pose guy" rather than a "variation guy" I did know a few other people who were doing the whole set, but I think some of them have evaporated or given up in recent years. Bob M. and Scott B. are the only complete-set-owners I can think of right now. Tim |

Tim- isn't there one card, maybe Seymour, Baltimore (just a guess from memory) that is unique? Do set collectors consider themselves complete without it?
