1939 All Star Game at Yankee Stadium...
This game was played exactly one week after Gehrig's "Luckiest Man" speech of July 4th, 1939.

Quincy Trouppe, only MLB hit
Thought I’d add one here! I’ve posted this before but this is the ticket from the May 10, 1952 game between the Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Browns. The Tribe lost 6-4 in front of just over 14,000 fans however the game is significant as Quincy Trouppe, former Negro League star would collect his only MLB hit and start his only complete game at catcher going nine innings. Unfortunately Trouppe would be sent to Indianapolis the following day with the game on May 10 being his last in the majors. As a 39 year old rookie he batted .100 in 11 plate appearances over six games. In the eyes of most fans and players that day it was a routine game but to Trouppe the culmination of a career.

Given the great tickets I've seen in this thread, I'm almost embarrassed to post this, but here it goes. It's my first ever baseball ticket but otherwise isn't noteworthy. I'm a card guy who has dabbled in other ephemera. Joe D. had a hit and the Yanks beat Washington in 10 innings. I could easily get hooked on these things and perhaps corresponding programs/score cards.

This arrived today. I’ve been wanting a full 1971 Game 7 WS ticket for awhile. I purchased this raw blue ticket on eBay a couple of days ago. Today this huge slabbed SGC ticket arrived instead. I’m not complaining but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I guess you don’t look a gift slab in the cert. so to speak?

Doug, wish you still had a duplicate Lasorda ticket. I recently picked up these Dodgers 4 home runs + 1 home run tickets. On May 22, 2002 Shawn Green hit 4 home runs and then the next day hit one home run. On September 18, 2006 the Dodgers were trailing 9-5 in the bottom of the ninth. Jeff Kent, JD Drew, Russell Martin and Marlon Anderson hit consecutive home runs to tie the game. Down 10-9 in the 10th inning Nomar Garciaparra hit a 2-run walk-off home run to win the game.

Julio Lugo sent Hoffman's third pitch deep to right, but the hopes of the remaining crowd weren't enough to push it over the wall for the victory. Olmedo Saenz popped to short, Rafael Furcal flied out to right, and it was on to the 10th, where the Padres managed to score a run (thankfully not another run for some guy named Piazza who had started the scoring for the Padres in the first inning). They left the bases loaded when Jeff Blum, who was 2-3 with a run and 2 rbi flied out to right off Aaron Sele (the eventual winner). In the Dodger's 10th Rudy Seanez walked Kenny Lofton on 7 pitches, and would have walked Nomahhhh Garciaparra had he not dropped the 3-1 pitch into the left centerfield bleachers. So, to recap - the Dodgers sent 9 men to the plate and scored 6 runs on 5 homers and a walk. Rafael Furcal led off the game the next night with first pitch homer, for the 6th Dodger HR in 10 batters, but they got their butts kicked that night. Here are my scorecards from the big game... ironically, I don't know where the ticket is, hahahaha. Well, it's probably in the box of tickets that I have from my season ticket holder days. Nice tickets. I am a little distraught however to see so many in PSA plastic slabs. Surprised you fellas haven't already gotten a scolding from the memorabilia police for not upholding your sacred duty to properly preserve the hobbys history as per recommendations of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Frank Howard Home Run #382 - Last MLB Home Run
First off!
Thanks go out to Scott in hooking me up with a gentleman that had an extra ticket of Frank Howards last MLB Home Run. As a result of that networking, I am now the very proud owner of this ticket stub. Which, by the way is now a focus of my collecting along with Topps variations from my collected sets. SCORE! Hondo was playing for the Detroit Tigers and the game was in Fenway against Boston. Hondo smacked #382 off of pitcher Bill Lee in the seventh inning. Boom, #382 was in the books. Hondo went 3 for 4 in that appearance, scoring twice and had one RBI. Detroit went on to win the game 6 - 1. This ticket for me is one of the Grail tickets and I am STOKED to have it in my possession. Now on to the other Hondo ticket stubs that I am looking for. An interesting side story. A couple of Frank's teammates on Detroit during that game: Joe Coleman, Ed Brinkman, and Aurelio Rodriguez. Who were teammates with Frank when he played for the Senators. Cheers! Butch

This was my only ticket pickup at this years National. This 1971 All Star Game ticket has long been on my want list. The fact that Reggie took my man Dock Ellis deep connects it to my 1971 Bucs obsession. This was also Clemente’s last All Star Game appearance. When I asked Reggie to sign the ticket I asked him to inscribe it “Off the Roof!” As that was Curt Gowdy’s famous call. Reggie smiled and said, “Gowdy was wrong on that call. That ball was over the roof! Do you mind if I correct him and sign it that way?” Who the hell am I to disagree with Mr. October?

Great story. Gowdy called it as "off the transformer" light tower. Video isnt good enough to verify. I was 11 eating a bag of cheese popcorn and drinking a coke after I got the bottle cap with Tony Oliva off it, about 2 feet from a black and white TV.
