Default I don't think Dan Even monitors this board

But you are correct; in that he would be a great source to answer this question as would Bob Thing in Maine.

Regards
Rich

Hi Paul,

These postcards aren't uncatalogued but just one of the few variations of the runs of postcards in the Indians issued beginning in 1948.

It's funny that you mention Dan Even, because as I write this I'm referring to a checklist for the Type II (1948-49) Indians postcards he sent me a few years back. This excerpt should help:

"Same basic pose often came with a cropping different or with different version of a printed name. Cards with white printed name (WN), black printed name (BN) and no printed name (NPN). Sometimes the printed name was repositioned on the card. Only listed are the basic poses, there were many re-croppings of the same pose."

For what it's worth, I've always placed a premium on PCs with this type of printed name because in my experience some of the poses are toughter to find. I don't have proof that some of them are tougher, it's just been my impression.

Here are a handful of other examples. Note the different croppings on the Fellers. In one, the man along the left side can clearly be seen; in the other, all you see is his left shoulder.
