Default Indians Stuff

Jimmy... those are two pristine autos from mega Hall-of-famers... awesome!

Below is a rare unaltered 1970 Indians Home Jersey that was worn by Ted Uhlaender. This is a single-year style with the nifty 3-D Font. IMO they shouldn't have abandoned this style so quickly, as it's beautiful in person.

Big Chief Eerie Doll... tough to find w/original box! Nowadays, they might face legal battles for this kind of merchandising...

Default Reds stuff...

Tony Perez' Game-used Helmet from 1975. The Letter from Cincinnati Reds says that it's one of two he used that year, so it probably saw action in the World Series, with a 50-50 chance he was wearing it when he clobbered Bill Lee's Eephus pitch high over the Green Monster. One of my faves...

Also a nifty Redlegs game-used Jacket from the mid '50s...

Just uncovered these photos of Crosley Field, which my Dad took in 1969. A magical little Ballpark as I remember it at age 9. With the gigantic left field scoreboard and the incline terrace in the outfield (in place of a warning track) it had some really unique features. You can also see the press box, which sat high above the top deck!

These images brought back lots of memories. I traced one game to July 15, 1969, based on the scoreboard info (0-4 in the first inning, and Britton vs. Clay Carroll) I forgot Carroll was a starting pitcher back then (he later became a premier reliever in the 1970s Big Red Machine days).

There was apparently a second game against the Braves, as Johnny Bench is seen batting. Bench was hurt for the July 17 game, and was not playing (Pat Corrales played in his place, as evidenced on the scoreboard...)

Just wanted to share, as it was a real "score" to find these ektachrome slides after 40 years in storage!

BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS! Love it when we see angles like this! Thanks for sharing them!

Here's a huge Burger Beer store display featuring Crosley Field in glorious color as well! (measures 38" x 28") I don't know when the color of the grandstand was changed so I can't give a date to this.

Default 1875 Base Ball Program...Cleveland OH

Here is a program from a day of outdoor sports that took place in 1875 on Euclid Ave. in Cleveland Ohio. My image cuts off cuz I wanted to feature the great graphics, but just below the city and state are indicated as Cleveland Ohio....wonder if Brooks School or Euclid Ave. is still there?

I believe that the Reds and Tigers were the only teams to put out these Silk Banners for their championship teams (someone please correct me if that's wrong).

They are scarce, and a bidding war ensues each time one comes to auction. A 1940 Reds one (with major condition issues) recently hit ebay. Just too tattered for my liking, but I do have these three toughies. The 1961 Reds/Yankees Banner always commands a premium, as it is coveted by Yankee fans as well...
