One thing I like about this board, compared to another one thats not baseball collecting, that I visit, is the knowledge I gain, the cool stuff Ive seen, and people Ive met. Also, sold a couple small things.

That all said, I hope that these type of threads are NOT common, with bickering and people trying to disrupt things, as this thread really takes away from the reasons we are all here.

Default Sigh

Once again (and it happens often), I am confused. Reginald Marsh, the Marshmallow, or whatever you want to call him, posts for one reason and one reason only -- to cause everyone who reads his posts to respond. He's like a tick in that regard. For whatever reason, it appears that causing angst and anger is what gives him life. While I think that is more than a little pathetic, so be it.

My question is, by now people should know that he's a dick whose posts generally add nothing and almost always detract from the overall intelligence of the board. I view that as a given. Don Rickles he isn't. What he wants is what he often gets -- a response. Why do that? Everytime he says insulting or simply stupid stuff and gets a response, he validates himself. To those of you who he offends, I suggest that if you put him on ignore and do not respond to his prevocative comments anymore. He will then go away because his basic interest is in baiting people, not cards, and if there is no response the fun will no longer exist. My two cents.

Are you still designing sun glasses bro? I actually do not post often on the main board unless i feel it necessary. Also i buy and sell quite a few cards but gee i do not see you auctioning or selling anything. Just me two cents for what it is worth.

Default WTB T206 Foster

I am looking to buy a T206 Ed Foster (southern league) in any grade. Please email me at aamoniz@yahoo.com with a scan and asking price if anyone has one they'd like to sell.

Regards,
Adam

You don't get it, Reggie. It's not enough that you don't hate people. You still don't get to be an a$$ and then say they should be okay with it because you don't hate them.

And you certainly don't get to (here or anywhere else on the planet) do whatever you want, act however you want and say whatever you want and then hide behind "this is just me being me". Do you fart in a crowded elevator and think that's funny and say it's just "me being me"? I probably shouldn't ask that - you probably do.

The point is that there is no excuse for some of the comments and behavior, and telling us that's just how you are doesn't cut it. Now a genuine apology? That would be different.

And I honestly don't care if you cut into me. Seriously - if I take a shot at you then by all means, have at it. Make another crack about how I'm a Barbara Walters wannabe. No problem. Just leave the sexual stuff out of it. That's where you cross the line.

Throwing the sexual stuff at me is no different than coming on here and [offensive language removed. PM me if you want a private copy for thread context. JMK] (but tink-tink, Cheers!, let's have a toast, right Alan?)

There are actually even worse things you could say about blacks and the Jewish members that are even more oppressive - oppressive and attempts to intimidate just like the sexual crap you lay on me. These are some things that you would not get to get away with by laughing it off as a misunderstood joke. At least not after the first time.

But do keep bringing da noize over on the BST. Nice E-card auction. Now that's extreeeeeme! As you would say, yawn yawn yawn zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz boring. What next? GASP! A toaster? Or maybe WHOA - a set of throw pillows?

And thanks to those that have posted, emailed or PM'd in my defense. I really appreciate it. I am behind on responding so emails - way behind - but am definitely going to. I thought the world would magically reappear after I took the bar exam, but it hasn't worked out that way so far.

Joann

Marshall's comments to Joann were inappropriate and I understand being her insulted by them. I am also sure she was trying to make a point with the above but YIKES. I think the point could have been made with far more tact.

Sorry, Andy, you're right.

And to be clear about my last post: I do not in any way mean for it to come off as a criticism of Leon or his moderating. My intent is to try and illustrate my belief that a roomful of men will have a really difficult time understanding the hurt caused by H1N1's comments toward one of the only women who post on this board.

I would have never come back here.

Hi Joann- strong post to say the least. How are you doing? How was the bar exam?

I also liked Adam's post- perfect timing on that one.

Marshall,

What the f? I apologized. Just like you! I don't hate you. I feel that I have a great sense of humor but if people just don't get it then I can't force them to like me. I am so sorry you did not understand that my post was in jest and that I may have hurt your feelings (enough to attack my job, which is sad since you could have gone so many other intelligent routes). I don't dislike you, I am just a different person from you. That is what makes America great! The fact that you and I are different and we both can apologize. Again, I am sorry Marshall for your lack of understanding. I hope we can move on and talk cards.

Joshua

Adam,

Please confine these types of posts to the BST. This board is for serious discussions by "insiders" only!

(However, if there was a rating system, your's would be an all time winning post.)

Let me get this straight...

You own a Vintage Baseball card Forum.

You host your own damn dinner at The National every year. (With hundreds of friends you didn't know you had.)

You own an auction house.

You have a world class type card collection.

You have double secret access to the President of one (maybe it's two) of the largest, most controversial auction houses.

You've slept over at Barry's place.

And you still want more? Man! Talk about greedy!
