Here are mine (in chronological order, by publication date):
Card Prices Among the Economic Chaos, www.CardInformant.com, Nov. 14, 2008, available at http://cardinformant.com/news/index....id=60&Itemid=2 -- This was my first ever attempt at writing and originally appeared in our first e-Newsletter (Nov. 2008). The content is mildly interesting, but it is nowhere near as good as our other articles. The 1958 NFL Championship Game 50 Years Later: Why the 1952 Bowman Large Football Set is Superior to the 1952 Topps Baseball Set, SGC Collector Magazine, Spring 2009, also available on our blog by clicking here -- This was my first article that appeared in print (it originally appeared in our January 2009 e-Newsletter). ![]() Cigarettes, Hollywood Starlets, and Nazis: The Historical Tale of the Garbaty Film Stars Sets , Classic Images (vintage movie magazine), June 2009, also available at on our blog by clicking here -- This is my favorite article (and probably always will be) because of the sets' (and Garbaty Company's) place in the history of pre-war Nazi Germany (the three sets were released in 1934, 1936, and 1937). The cards are also some of the most exquisite ever printed. If you have a free 15 minutes to kill, I recommend this one above all of my others (you'll need 20+, if you want read the endnotes. This article originally appeared in our March 2009 e-Newsletter. Cigarettes, Hollywood Starlets, and Nazis: The Historical Tale of the Garbaty Film Stars Sets , Card Collecting News, scheduled to appear in two parts in the October and November 2009 issues -- This is the same article as the one above (we're getting a lot of mileage out of it). Charlie, Bob and Me & The 1953-1955 Johnston Cookies Milwaukee Braves Sets, Old Cardboard, scheduled to be published in March 2010; also available on our blog by clicking here -- This one was really fun to write and research (it originally appeared in our June 2009 e-Newsletter). Introducing the Finest Known 1958 NFL Championship Game ticket Stub, Gridiron Greats, scheduled for Fall/Winter 2006 -- This is a hobby find article which I am currently revising; thus, a final is not available, yet. -------------------- Article I am still shopping around for publication (with no luck, yet): Chuck Taylors, Musty Gyms, the Hardwood, and the Emergence of a Legend: The 1957-58 Topps Basketball Set, available on our blog by clicking here (this article originally appeared in our April 2009 e-Newsletter). ------------------- Writings in progress: E79 Philadelphia Caramel 27 Scrappers boxing set (due to be appear in our August 2009 e-Newsletter, set for release on August 25th). Co-authoring a personal account of witnessing all three 1977 World Series games at Yankee Stadium (due to appear in our September 2009 e-Newsletter, set for release in late September). -------------------- By the way, if anyone would like to be on our monthly e-Newsletter list, please send us an email at MDsportscards@gmail.com (Leon, lemme know if I need to delete this line ![]()
