I wrote an article in almost every one of the first 15 or so VCBC's; the list is a bit long but anyone with a complete set can see them. Some topics include Peck and Snyders, Harry Wright Scorebooks, Joseph Hall cabinets, Mort Rogers scorecards, a checklist of Alexander Cartwright, Henry Chadwick, and Harry Wright photographs, and my absolute favorite on Vintage and Rare Baseball Books. There are others, but I would have to look them up...and I'm lazy.

I also have an article or two in The Old Judge, and wrote a couple for SCD, but those aren't worth much.

Almost forgot: I also collaborated on an article with Corey Shanus for Stephen Wong's Smithsonian Baseball, on collecting 19th century baseball memorabilia.

I knew Barry the First would have quite a list.
Impressive.
When you get a burst of energy(you're a year younger than I), a bibliography would sure help 'cause i'm hopin' that we'll end up with a detailed list for posterity. Perhaps there's a grad. asst. who could help provide it!

best,
barry

Barry A.

I will post mine later tonight. I'm a newbie to the sportscard writing world (wrote my first essay in November), but I'm-a-buildin' the ol' resume slowly but surely (i.e., word by word, line by line, paragraph by paragraph, page by ... well, you understand my point ).

I think this is a great idea; I look forward to soon collaborating with anyone whose knowledge dwarfs my own!

1) I am photo consultant for SABR’s Baseball Research Journal and The National Pastime
2) “Analyzing Grand Old Images –A Close Look at Two Photos From the Deadball Era”, The National Pastime, #28, June 2008
3) “Zooming in on a Great Old Photo”, The Baseball Research Journal, #38, Summer 2009
4) “T205 Gold Border Player Acquires New Identity”, Old Cardboard Magazine, #14, winter 2008
5) Quarterly “Mystery Photo” column for SABR’s Pictorial History Committee

Barry - I was familiar with your article (with Cory) in Wong's book - but I did not realize you and he were the authors until I happened to revisit it recently. Nice work.

It's already been mentioned on the board,
but I'll throw my name in the hat too.
Last month my book about the Philadelphia
Caramel Company was released. Don't
know if this counts, but quite a bit of
research also went into my Black Sox
website.

Default Hobby scribblings ...

I wrote a monthly column for Canadian Sports Collector magazine from 1990-98, focusing mostly on hockey history and vintage collectibles. I've also contributed several articles to The Hockey Research Journal, published annually by SIHR, and was the contributing editor for vintage hockey and boxing autographs and publications for the third edition of SCD's Standard Catalog of Sports Memorabilia.
