Loved the 1912 photo the last time I saw it, Greg. It just keeps looking better. I think the angle is a bit different than the PC.

Rawn,
I've seen a few slightly different views of this photo. You really have to do a double take to notice the differences. Best, Greg |

Here's one to revive this thread too. The same caveat applies: I'm a HORRIBLE photographer, and my basement studio doesn't lend itself nicely to shooting. With that in mind, please understand that it's not a good representation of the painting. Once I get it photographed, I'll post the professionally-done photo.
Another Conlon shot. Those of you who were at the National may have seen me working on it, and perhaps even threw a tomato or two. It's finally done, and after a varnish is being shipped out to its owner. Oh, and for those of you who are curious, in the late 30s and early 40s, the Yankees would cover the tops of their home and away dugouts with a huge red tarp during special events. In this case, it's Opening Day at the Stadium in 1939, and with the Sox in town, this young man is about to start a brilliant career. ![]() ![]()

I can't say this is from my personal collection, but here is a statue of Cy Young on the spot where the pitcher's mound was located at the Huntington Avenue Grounds. This statue is only a few hundred feet from my office and I pass it all the time. Also, the 1903 World Series wrapped up on this spot on October 13th - which happens to be my birthday.
