Martin, It should probably be noted in the guides that the Ray Schalk in that set is ALWAYS found with the staple holes at the top due to his placement on the sheet.

The image looks similar in style to the ones Rhett showed above, but the duplication of the name is a little odd.
I think this is from either 1909 or 1911. Warren Miller had a little more than a cup of coffee with Washington in those two years, with a total of 85 AB in 47 games (and a slugging average of .188). Bill ![]() |

Below is the first official postage stamp ever produced with a baseball theme. It was issued in the Philippines (then a US territory) in 1934--Babe Ruth’s last year with the Yankees. This example was "canceled" by Ruth.
Ironically, the first US domestic postage stamp with a baseball theme was not issued until 1939, keyed to the celebration of the "centennial" of baseball.
